Magnesium oxide is a white amorphous powder. It is odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. The relative density is about 3.58 (25℃). Melting point 2852℃, boiling point 3600℃. Insoluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, soluble in acid or ammonium salt solution. After 1000℃ above high temperature burning, can be transformed into crystals. When the temperature rises to more than 1500℃, it becomes dead burned magnesium oxide or sintered magnesium oxide. Encounters with carbon dioxide in the air to form basic magnesium carbonate.
The process flow
Light magnesium oxide is generally from magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, or magnesium bicarbonate, into water soluble products and then through chemical method into water insoluble products, and then calcined into magnesium oxide. The products produced with very small bulk density are generally 0.2(g/ml), and heavy magnesium oxide is usually directly calcined from magnesite and brucite, and the bulk density is generally 0.5(g/ml).
use
Light magnesium oxide is mainly used in the preparation of ceramics, enamel, refractory crucible and refractory brick raw materials. Also used as polishes, adhesives, coatings, fillers for paper, and accelerators and activators for neoprene and fluoroelastomer. When mixed with magnesium chloride and other solutions, magnesium oxide water can be prepared. Used medicinally as an antacid and laxative for gastric acid excess stomach and two finger bowel ulcer disease.
Used in the chemical industry as a catalyst and raw material for the manufacture of magnesium salts. Also used in glass, dyeing meal, phenolic plastics and other manufacturing. Heavy magnesium oxide rice milling industry for firing milling and half - drum.
